day in the life

Brief Birthday Note

Thus far, I love being thirty.

The only regret I have, if you can call it a regret since I have little to do with it, is that I thought I’d be taller at this age. Since I’m only 5’2″ now, you can imagine that I was quite a small child; therefore everyone loomed above me, and I think I began to equate tall with older, mature, wise.

So you see, I thought I’d be taller by now, as befits my age, maturity and wisdom. Of course, part of my birthday celebrations involved cramming oreos into my mouth and giggling until 2am, so perhaps I am the right height, after all.

    Happy Birthday!

    I, too, am a September baby. ๐Ÿ™‚

I would like to address one issue in your last post: height. As a proud descendant of Vikings, I am the short one in my family at 5’11”. I have a baby brother who is 6’9″.

I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that many tall persons (including me) are quite capable of being every bit as lighthearted & silly as yourself! & thank goodness, I say. No need to be so dreadfully serious all the time.

Many happy returns of the day,

    Vickie

Height, age & wisdom.. While sometimes they correspond with one-another, this is not always the case. As I am living proof.. (I’ll be 35?! shortly, sigh) But as long as you’re having fun, it’s not so bad.
